The Minister for Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, says a total of 280 corruption and corruption-related cases are currently under investigation as part of the government’s accountability efforts.

Speaking on Monday, January 26, he explained that the Operation Uncover All Roots (ORAL) initiative, launched by the National Democratic Congress (NDC), is a key tool to ensure accountability among public office holders. The Oral Preparatory Committee compiled information on the 280 alleged cases and submitted a report to the Attorney General, who has since commissioned investigations into each case.

Kwakye Ofosu stressed that the report alone cannot be used to prosecute anyone without proper investigations. He added that more than 100 people have been questioned, some arrested, detained, or granted bail, and over 20 cases are at advanced stages with dockets nearly ready to go to court.

The minister urged Ghanaians to respect due process, noting that timelines are controlled by the courts once cases reach them. He emphasized that fairness and justice remain central to the government’s fight against corruption.
