Forty-one people, including four police officers, were injured when a swarm of bees attacked the Daavi Blessed Police Station at Gomoa Amoada Junction in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region.

One victim is reported to be in critical condition and requires urgent medical attention, while 40 others sustained varying degrees of injuries following multiple stings.

According to reports, the bees had been hiding inside a faulty tipper truck parked near the station. The swarm reportedly became aggressive and spread into the area after the vehicle owner opened the bonnet, attacking officers and nearby residents.

Speaking to Adom News, one of the victims, Sakora Ahiadome, said he attempted to spray the bees but narrowly escaped serious harm. He described the situation as chaotic, revealing that officers were trapped inside the station for nearly three hours as the swarm hovered around the premises.

The attack also affected livestock, with three fowls reportedly killed.

The incident has left the community shaken and sparked concerns about the need for improved safety measures when dealing with potentially dangerous bee infestations in public spaces.
