The Ghanaian national football team, the Black Stars, has touched down in the United States to finalize preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The squad traveled from Wales on Wednesday after playing a pre-tournament friendly in Cardiff. The team will now base its training camp at Bryant University in Providence, Rhode Island. Upon their arrival, the players were met with an enthusiastic reception from gathered supporters, pausing to sign autographs and take photographs with fans.

The arrival follows a Tuesday night draw against Wales, which marked Ghana’s first positive outcome since October 2025. The result halted a four-game losing streak that spanned the international fixtures in November and March.

The Black Stars are scheduled to play their final preparatory exhibition against Jamaica on June 10. They will subsequently begin their official World Cup campaign with an opening match against Panama on June 17. Ghana is positioned in Group L alongside England, Croatia, and Panama, as the team aims to secure its first advancement to the tournament’s knockout rounds since 2010.
