An NDC branch organiser for Agona West, Prince Aboagye, has been granted GH¢200,000 bail after appearing before a court over allegations of publishing false and offensive statements about former Vice-President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia on TikTok.
The 39-year-old lotto agent has been charged with offensive conduct conducive to the breach of the peace and publication of false news. He pleaded not guilty, and the court granted him bail with three sureties, one of whom must provide landed property as justification. The case has been adjourned to August 19, 2026.
According to the prosecution, Aboagye allegedly used the TikTok account @atutulagh to publish false statements about Dr Bawumia that were intended to provoke a breach of the peace. Police said he admitted recording and posting the video during investigations but acknowledged that the allegations contained in it were false.
