Accra Hearts of Oak have officially withdrawn from the 2026 GHALCA Top-4 Tournament, citing scheduling conflicts with their pre-season preparations and established club programs.
In an official statement released on Tuesday, August 11, the club explained that the tournament schedule overlaps with previously planned commitments and runs too close to the start of the upcoming league season, raising concerns over team preparation.
Hearts of Oak indicated that they had previously engaged the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) to request a revision of the competition dates to accommodate their schedule, but an agreement on alternative dates could not be reached.
“After careful consideration, the Club has therefore decided that withdrawing from the tournament is the most appropriate course of action at this time,” Hearts of Oak stated.
The club expressed gratitude to GHALCA for organizing the event, wished the participating teams success, and affirmed that the decision would not compromise their ongoing relationship with the association or the broader Ghanaian football ecosystem.
Management reiterated that the decision was taken following a careful assessment of its operational priorities, leaving the tournament without one of its headline participants ahead of the new campaign.
