The Ghana Armed Forces has evacuated three Ghanaian traders who were injured during a terrorist attack in Burkina Faso, as part of a coordinated humanitarian and security response.
According to an official statement, the evacuation was carried out on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, by the Ghana Air Force, with the injured victims flown back to Ghana for urgent medical care. Upon arrival in Accra, they were transferred to the 37 Military Hospital for further treatment and assessment.

The operation, announced on Wednesday, February 18, formed part of a broader government-led effort to ensure the safety of Ghanaians affected by the February 14 attack. It involved close collaboration between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, the Ministry of Defence (Ghana), and the Ghana Armed Forces.
In its statement, the GAF also expressed condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the attack and wished the injured a speedy recovery, reaffirming the government’s commitment to protecting Ghanaian citizens
