The Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) has announced it will appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) after the Confederation of African Football (CAF) awarded Morocco a 3-0 forfeit victory for their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations match.

The CAF Appeal Jury issued the ruling on March 17, 2026, after upholding a petition by the Fédération Royale Marocaine de Football (FRMF) regarding Match No. 52. This decision overturned a previous verdict by the Disciplinary Jury on procedural grounds, with CAF stating that Morocco’s right to be heard was not originally respected.

Upon reviewing the case, the Appeal Jury found Senegal in breach of Articles 82 and 84 of the AFCON regulations. Consequently, the FSF was sanctioned, and the match was officially awarded to Morocco.

The Senegalese FA has strongly rejected the verdict, labeling the decision as “unfair, unprecedented, and unacceptable” in a formal statement. The federation argued that the ruling damages the credibility of African football and confirmed its intent to escalate the matter to the Lausanne-based CAS to defend its interests.
