Gomoa Central MP, Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as A Plus, has explained that his decision to align with the Majority in Parliament is motivated by the need to secure development for his constituency rather than loyalty to any political party.
Speaking in an interview, the independent legislator said his foremost priority is addressing long-standing infrastructural challenges in Gomoa Central, particularly the poor road network. He noted that aligning with a development-oriented government gives him a better chance to attract projects to the area.
A Plus said his constituents support his decision, emphasizing that voters judge their MP by results delivered rather than party affiliation. He described himself as a representative for all residents of Gomoa Central, regardless of political leaning.
According to the MP, working with the Majority provides greater leverage to lobby for government attention and resources. He added that his political choices are driven by long-term interests and development goals, not permanent political alliances, stressing that he would have taken the same position regardless of which party formed the government.
