Former Black Stars captain Abedi Ayew Pele has been named to a newly constituted Ministerial Advisory Board to support policy formulation and nationwide sports development initiatives.
The nine-member board was inaugurated on Tuesday by Sports and Recreation Minister Kofi Adams, who will serve as chairman. The team includes senior government officials, private-sector leaders and civil society representatives.
The board is expected to provide strategic guidance on youth development, governance, accountability and inclusive sports growth. Minister Adams also revealed that the long-awaited Sports Development Fund is nearing completion and will soon be presented to Parliament to secure sustainable financing for infrastructure and grassroots programmes.
He expressed confidence that the board’s diverse expertise will help advance Ghana’s ambition to become a continental leader in sports and recreation.
