The Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMet) has issued an alert indicating that scattered thunderstorms and rainfall are expected later today in Accra, Kasoa, and sections of the Ashanti Region. The notice was included in the agency’s 24-hour forecast released on Thursday morning.
Communities expected to be impacted include Accra, Kasoa, Kumasi, Obuasi, Tarkwa, Cape Coast, Takoradi, Axim, and Sefwi Bekwai.
GMet noted that early-morning mist and fog developed over coastal, forest, and highland areas, causing reduced visibility for road users.

According to the agency, thunderstorms or rain are projected over parts of the coastal stretch, as well as the middle and transition zones, with conditions persisting into the evening. Meanwhile, the northern sector is forecast to remain mostly dry with slight haziness.
The forecast further mentions that nighttime and early-morning temperatures in the upper regions will be relatively cool, while sea conditions are expected to stay rough.
