The Attorney-General’s Department has disclosed that the record of appeal in the case involving former MASLOC Chief Executive Officer Sedina Christine Tamakloe Attionu was incomplete, as it did not contain the prosecution’s trial exhibits.
In written submissions filed on April 1, 2026, the State told the Court of Appeal that only some disclosure documents provided to the defence before the trial were included in the appeal record, while all exhibits tendered during the trial were absent. Despite the omission, the Attorney-General said it proceeded with its submissions using prosecution notes after becoming aware of the appeal proceedings only after the court had directed both parties to file their written arguments.
The Attorney-General also informed the appellate court of the incomplete record before the case was determined.
On Thursday, the Court of Appeal acquitted and discharged Ms Tamakloe, overturning her conviction by the High Court. Following the ruling, the Attorney-General announced plans to challenge the decision at the Supreme Court.
