The Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, has donated GH¢100,000 from his personal funds to support the Ghana National Fire Service, Nadowli Kaleo Students Union, and Sombo Senior High School.
A significant portion of the funds will go toward completing a fence wall for the Fire Service’s regional headquarters to improve security. Additional contributions include over GH¢70,000 worth of items for Sombo Senior High School’s Home Economics Department and GH¢10,000 to support the student union.
Mr. Bagbin said the donation reflects his commitment to promoting safety, education, and youth development. He stressed the importance of adequately supporting emergency services, warning against neglecting institutions like the Fire Service.
He also reaffirmed Parliament’s support for policies aimed at strengthening and equipping the Fire Service for improved efficiency, while encouraging individuals and organizations to invest in education and youth empowerment.
The Speaker emphasized that sustained support for both emergency services and educational institutions is essential to national development and public well-being.
