Ghana international Kwasi Sibo has completed a permanent transfer to Libyan top-flight side Al-Swehly as a free agent following the expiration of his contract with Spanish club Real Oviedo.
The 28-year-old midfielder signed a three-year contract with the Libyan club, which includes an option for an additional year.
Sibo, who featured in Spanish La Liga during the 2025/26 campaign, became available after Real Oviedo opted not to renew his contract at the end of the season.
His move to Libya comes after a potential transfer to the Turkish top division failed to materialize, while he also declined offers from clubs in France and Major League Soccer.
Reports indicate that the deal could be valued at $10 million, as part of a wider government-backed initiative aimed at attracting high-profile African talent to the Libyan league.
The Black Stars midfielder, who started in all of Ghana’s matches at the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Mexico, Canada, and the United States, returned to Ghana on Tuesday after traveling to Cairo to finalize his contract ahead of the 2026/27 season.
