The Ghanaian community in Austria is set to host the Chiefs Grand Durbar Austria 2026 on September 18 and 19, 2026, in Vienna.

The two-day cultural event will take place at Ada-Christen-Gasse 8, Wien, Vienna, Austria, and is expected to bring together traditional leaders, members of the Ghanaian diaspora, families and friends to celebrate Ghana’s rich cultural heritage.

Organisers say the durbar will serve as a platform to promote unity, cultural identity and community engagement among Ghanaians living in Austria and across Europe.

The event will feature a grand procession of chiefs and queen mothers, showcasing the splendour of Ghana’s traditional leadership and customs. Cultural performances, including traditional music and dance, will highlight the diversity of Ghana’s heritage.

Patrons will also be treated to authentic Ghanaian cuisine and have opportunities for networking and community fellowship.

A major highlight of the durbar will be an awards and recognition ceremony to honour individuals who have made significant contributions to the Ghanaian community and the promotion of Ghanaian culture abroad.

Organisers expect the event to attract participants from across Europe and beyond, reinforcing cultural ties among Ghanaians in the diaspora while promoting Ghana’s traditions on the international stage.

The Chiefs Grand Durbar Austria 2026 is expected to provide a vibrant platform for celebrating Ghanaian culture, fostering community spirit and strengthening connections between traditional heritage and the diaspora.
