The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) has arrested Wendell Nana Yaw Yeboah after three Regional Ministers petitioned the police over what they describe as false and damaging allegations related to galamsey activities.
A police statement issued on Wednesday, November 26, revealed that the petition was filed by Daniel Sasu Omari and two others on behalf of the Ashanti, Eastern, and Western Regional Ministers, requesting a full investigation into claims allegedly made by Yeboah.
Following the petition, CID officers arrested the suspect, who is currently in custody assisting with investigations. Police say he is expected to be arraigned today.
The statement, signed by Chief Inspector Brigitte Babanawo of the CID Public Relations Unit, assured the public that the investigation will be carried out in accordance with the law.
