The Concerned Farmers Association of Ghana has dismissed reports that cocoa farmers are planning a demonstration, describing the claims as false and an attempt to politicise the cocoa sector.
In a statement signed by its President, Farmer General Nana Oboadie Boateng Bonsu II, the association said no cocoa farmers have threatened to protest, insisting that its members remain focused on their farming activities rather than politics.
The association called on the Ghana Police Service to thoroughly investigate any individual or group seeking to organise a demonstration in the name of cocoa farmers before granting approval. It also warned that impersonating cocoa farmers for political purposes is a serious offence that should be addressed by the authorities.
The group urged the public to disregard reports suggesting that Ghanaian cocoa farmers have endorsed or planned any demonstration.
