The Minister for Energy and Green Transition, John Jinapor, has issued a strong warning to district offices of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) over declining service standards. Speaking on April 14, he expressed concern about delays in responding to power outages, describing the situation in some districts as unacceptable.
While acknowledging ECG’s overall performance, the Minister highlighted lapses in responsiveness at certain offices and directed the company’s Managing Director to conduct an internal review to identify and address shortcomings.
Mr. Jinapor cautioned that continued underperformance could lead to a major organisational shake-up. He urged staff to improve service delivery and take their responsibilities seriously to ensure reliable electricity supply for consumers.
