A fire outbreak at the Spintex Coastal Junction early Tuesday morning has destroyed more than 27 wooden structures and their contents.

The fire started at about 6:20 a.m. and spread quickly through the wooden structures. The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) responded with two fire appliances, while a private water tanker provided additional water to support the firefighting operation.

Firefighters brought the blaze under control after several hours and completely extinguished it at about 9:22 a.m.

One church and an adjoining building were also affected by the fire. The cause of the outbreak has not yet been established.

The GNFS has urged the public to observe fire safety precautions and report fire outbreaks promptly.
