A fire outbreak has gutted several mechanic shops at Sofoline in the Kwadaso Municipality of the Ashanti Region, destroying more than 100 vehicles and other valuable property.
The blaze, which broke out around 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, swept through the cluster of workshops, razing numerous engines, vehicle parts, and large quantities of upholstery materials. The incident has left many mechanics and shop owners counting heavy losses.
The cause of the fire has not yet been officially determined. However, some artisans in the area attribute the incident to the burning of refuse nearby.
No casualties have been reported as at the time of filing this report.
