The Ghana Enterprises Agency (GEA) has clarified that no permanent staff have been terminated, dismissing media reports suggesting otherwise following an internal memo dated December 3, 2025.

In a statement issued on Monday, December 8, the Agency explained that the memo concerned only District Coordinators hired on time-bound project contracts, whose agreements officially expired on August 31, 2025. Management had granted a temporary two-month extension, which ended on October 31, 2025, to ensure continuity of work.

GEA stressed that the memo did not terminate contracts but instructed individuals whose contracts had expired and who had not completed renewal processes to temporarily cease reporting to work. The directive also applied to National Service personnel who had completed their mandatory service.

The Agency emphasized that contract renewals are not automatic and depend on performance, funding, project needs, and other management considerations. GEA rejected claims that permanent or mainstream staff were affected, urging media and the public to verify information before publication.

The Agency reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, due process, and fair treatment of all staff.
