Education Minister Haruna Iddrisu and Deputy Minister for Communications and Digital Technology, Mohammed Adams Sukparu, are in stable condition following a road crash on the Bolgatanga–Tumu Road on Thursday, February 12, 2026.
The incident occurred while the two ministers and their respective teams were travelling to the Upper West Region for official engagements.
In a statement signed by Hashmin Mohammed, Press Secretary to the education minister, it was confirmed that all members of the convoy are stable and receiving the necessary medical attention.
The ministers were enroute to the 40th anniversary celebrations of Tumu College of Education and Jahan College of Education at the time of the crash.
The statement did not disclose details about the cause of the accident or the extent of injuries sustained. The Office of the Minister for Education, however, expressed appreciation to emergency responders, health workers and members of the public for their swift assistance, adding that further updates will be provided when necessary.
