Minister for Education, Haruna Iddrisu, has paid a condolence visit to the mother of the late Defence Minister, Dr. Edward Kofi Omane Boamah, in the Eastern Region. The visit took place on Thursday, January 29, during an official trip to the region.
Mr. Iddrisu met the bereaved mother to express his sympathy and offer support several months after the burial of the former minister. He comforted her with words of encouragement, assuring her of strength and divine support during the period of mourning.
The late Dr. Omane Boamah died on August 6, 2025, in a military helicopter crash while on official duty. The Ghana Armed Forces Z-9 helicopter was en route from Accra to Obuasi for an anti-illegal mining operation when it crashed in the Adansi Akrofuom District of the Ashanti Region, killing all eight people on board.
The incident claimed the lives of several senior government officials, political figures and military personnel, plunging the nation into mourning.
