Inspector-General of Police Christian Tetteh Yohuno has described the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, as the “King Solomon” of our time, praising his exceptional role in peacebuilding, conflict resolution, and national development.
During the Asantehene’s visit to the Police Headquarters in Accra on January 6, IGP Yohuno lauded his mediation skills, noting:
“Your exceptional mediation skills, which have restored peace in numerous conflicts across our nation, compel me to describe you as the King Solomon of our time. Your wisdom, patience, and moral authority have brought calm where tensions once prevailed and unity where divisions once threatened our peace.”
He highlighted the monarch’s leadership in resolving the Dagbon chieftaincy crisis, interventions in Yendi and Bawku, and personal involvement in land and chieftaincy disputes in the Ashanti Region. The IGP also commended Otumfuo’s firm stance against illegal mining and his contributions to national development through initiatives like the Otumfuo Education Fund, which supports thousands of vulnerable students across Ghana.
