Ghanaian Highlife star Kwaisey Pee believes King Promise has done a lot under the year of review to be named Artiste of the Year at the upcoming Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA).

This year’s awards gala, slated for Saturday, June 1, 2024, will see the likes of King Promise, Stonebwoy, Nacee, Kuami Eugene, and Sarkodie vying for the coveted Artiste of the Year award.

According to Kwaisey Pee, King Promise delivered some monster hits in the year under review and should be a frontrunner to win the Artiste of the Year award.

“When we talk about performances, the music that has made it is certainly King Promise, and I think he has done a lot of concerts, so he should be the favourite to win it,” he said on DJ Slim’s “For the Culture ” podcast.

Kwaisey Pee also added that Black Sherif and Stonebwoy are also strong contenders for Artiste of the Year considering their outstanding output in the year under review.

When asked about his relationship with King Promise following a collaboration denial a few years ago, Kwaisey Pee said he was not personally against King Promise but was shocked that the latter denied knowing him on national television.

However, Kwaisey Pee said he was not perturbed by the comments and has moved on.

Kwaisey Pee is currently promoting his new single “Densu,” which features Arathejay and can be streamed across various streaming platforms.
