The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) has ordered traders, mechanics, car dealers and occupants of temporary structures along the Santasi–Asokwa corridor to vacate the area immediately to make way for the start of the Santasi Roundabout–Asokwa Interchange Dual Carriageway Project.
The directive, issued by KMA Chief Executive Richard Ofori-Agyeman Boadi, also requires the removal of billboards and other structures along the affected stretch by June 11, 2026.
Affected routes include the Santasi Roundabout–Asokwa Interchange corridor, Santasi–Holy Mary route, Santasi–Christian Service University stretch, and Ahodwo Roundabout–Atinga Junction area.
Authorities say the project is intended to ease traffic congestion and improve road connectivity within Kumasi. Motorists have been urged to exercise caution as construction equipment moves into the area, while affected occupants are expected to comply to avoid delays.
