President John Dramani Mahama has dismissed claims that he owns the Chain Homes residential estate, describing the allegations as unfounded.

Speaking during a community engagement with residents of the estate on Monday, December 22, 2025, the President said his residence in the area has no connection to ownership.

He explained that he and his family moved into the neighbourhood after experiencing difficulty securing suitable rental accommodation elsewhere.

According to President Mahama, the house he occupies is privately owned and was handed over to Chain Homes solely for rental purposes, which led to his family’s relocation to the estate.

He emphasised that the arrangement was strictly for accommodation and did not involve any form of investment or ownership.

Addressing long-standing speculation over his alleged ties to the estate, the President responded light-heartedly, noting that if the claims were accurate, it would imply that residents acquired their homes unlawfully.

He further joked that homeowners who paid developers should demand refunds and forward the money to him, reinforcing his assertion that he has no ownership stake in Chain Homes Estate.
