Minister of State in charge of Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, has announced that members of President John Dramani Mahama’s Presidential Advisory Group on the Economy (PAGE) will serve without remuneration.
He explained that members of the advisory group are not government employees and therefore will not be placed on any payroll, noting that many of them are already engaged in other professional roles, including positions within the public sector.
Mr Kwakye Ofosu said the group will independently determine the frequency of its meetings and other operational arrangements, stressing that its work is aimed at closely monitoring the economy and ensuring that government policies deliver benefits to the general population.
The PAGE is made up of prominent economists, business leaders and academics, including Kwame Pianim, Dr Kwabena Duffuor, Sir Samuel Esson Jonah, Ishmael Yamson, Togbe Afede XIV, and Abena Amoah, among others.
According to the Presidency, the advisory group will provide strategic guidance on macroeconomic management, fiscal consolidation, debt sustainability, coordination between fiscal and monetary policy, as well as structural transformation, industrial development, private sector growth and sustainable job creation.
