Nollywood actress Mercy Johnson has withdrawn an alleged defamation case against TikToker Eedie Bliss, leading to the TikTok creator’s release from police custody.

Eedie Bliss regained her freedom on Saturday, January 17, 2026, after the actress dropped all charges following public outcry on social media. The development came after social media critic VeryDarkMan condemned the arrest, arguing that defamation is a civil matter, and called for the TikToker’s release.

VeryDarkMan later announced the release on social media and thanked Mercy Johnson for withdrawing the case. Eedie Bliss had been arrested over a video posted on TikTok in December 2025, in which she made allegations involving Mercy Johnson and her husband, Prince Henry Okojie.

The allegations, which were attributed to an online source, sparked widespread reactions and debate online, culminating in the withdrawal of the case and the release of the TikToker.
