Contestants of the maiden edition of the Miss Teen pageant have paid a visit to the Sekondi Female Prison as part of activities lined up ahead of the grand finale scheduled for May 23, 2026.

The visit, led by Madam Princess Antwi, Chief Executive Officer of Carilex Productions, organisers of the pageant, formed part of the competition’s social responsibility engagements aimed at nurturing compassion, empathy, and civic consciousness among the young contestants.

Another key objective of the visit was to create awareness among the contestants and inmates on drug abuse, HIV, and AIDS, and to promote healthy lifestyle choices among young people.

During the visit, the contestants made a donation of assorted items including soft drinks and toiletries to support the welfare of the inmates.

Madam Princess Antwi explained that the outreach was deliberately incorporated into the Miss Teen programme to expose participants to real‑life social issues and encourage them to use their platforms to positively impact society.

“The Miss Teen pageant is not just about beauty and talent. It is about building character, instilling empathy, and preparing these young ladies to become responsible leaders who understand and care about the needs of others in society,” she said.

She added that engaging with vulnerable groups, including inmates, helps the contestants appreciate the value of kindness, humility, and service, which are core values the pageant seeks to promote.

Receiving the items, Chief Supt. Genevieve Hagan expressed gratitude to the organisers and contestants for the visit and the donations. She described the gesture as thoughtful and timely, noting that such acts of kindness go a long way to uplift the morale of inmates.

She also encouraged the contestants to remain focused on their education and personal development while serving as positive role models to their peers and communities.

With the countdown to the grand finale on May 23, 2026 underway, the Miss Teen contestants are expected to continue participating in grooming sessions, outreach programmes, and rehearsals as excitement builds toward the crowning night.

The maiden Miss Teen pageant, organised by Carilex Productions, seeks to redefine teen pageantry by blending beauty, intellect, cultural awareness, and social impact.
