A 29-year-old farmer, Moro Razak, is recovering after surgeons at the 37 Military Hospital in Accra successfully removed a motorbike key lodged in his skull following a violent attack in the Jasikan Municipality of the Oti Region.
The incident occurred on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at Amenyo, where Razak reportedly intervened to stop a fight between two young men who had travelled from Bodada to gamble. During the altercation, he was allegedly stabbed with a motorbike key, which became embedded in his skull.
Razak was initially treated at the Jasikan Municipal Hospital before being referred to the 37 Military Hospital for specialist care. Surgeons successfully removed the key during an operation on Sunday, July 26.
His uncle, Moro Alhassan, confirmed the surgery was successful and said Razak is recovering well under medical observation. He expressed gratitude to the medical team and all those who offered prayers and support, while appealing for continued prayers for his full recovery.
The shocking incident has left residents of Awoma, Amenyo and surrounding communities stunned, with many describing it as a tragic consequence of a dispute that escalated into violence.
