Nollywood actor Kunle Remi has described Nigeria as the worst destination visited by American streamer and YouTuber IShowSpeed during his ongoing tour of Africa.
In an Instagram story, Mr. Remi criticised Lagos, claiming the city has lost its cultural essence and now reflects negative social practices. His comments followed his review of IShowSpeed’s experiences across the continent.
IShowSpeed just ended a 28-day African tour aimed at showcasing the continent’s cultural diversity. The streamer has visited several countries across North, West, East and Southern Africa, including Algeria, Angola, Ghana, Morocco, South Africa and Nigeria.
Despite the criticism, IShowSpeed’s stop in Nigeria marked a major milestone, as his YouTube channel surpassed 50 million subscribers while he was live in Lagos traffic, making him the first Black individual creator to reach the mark. He also celebrated his 21st birthday during the visit.
After Nigeria, IShowSpeed arrived in Ghana on January 26, where he engaged in cultural activities, visited historical landmarks and received traditional honours before departing for Namibia on January 27, 2026.
