The Adenta Circuit Court has remanded Pastor William Gyimah into police custody over alleged threats made against Vice President Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang.

Presiding judge Angela Attachie ordered the remand after the accused appeared before the court in connection with a viral social media video.

Prosecutors charged Gyimah with false communication under Section 76 of the Electronic Communications Act, 2008 (Act 775) and publication of false news with intent to cause fear and alarm under Section 209 of the Criminal and Other Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29).

According to the prosecution, the accused made false and threatening statements targeting the Vice President in a video circulated on platforms including TikTok.

The court granted the prosecution’s request to remand the accused to allow for further investigations. He is expected to reappear in court on April 13, 2026.
