The Police in the Central Region have arrested a 26-year-old man, Eric Asamoah, for allegedly sodomising a seven-year-old boy at Mankessim.
A statement issued by the Regional Police Command on Wednesday said the suspect was arrested on November 3, 2025, with the assistance of the victim’s father, and has since been detained to assist with investigations.
The child was taken to the Saltpond Municipal Hospital, where he is receiving medical care and responding to treatment.
According to the police, the suspect admitted to the offence during interrogation and has been charged with defilement.
He is set to appear before the Circuit Court II in Cape Coast on Thursday, November 6, 2025, where he will face prosecution.
