The Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) has acknowledged the decision delivered by the CAF Appeals Committee regarding the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) final.
In a recent communication, the FRMF clarified that its involvement in the appeal process was not a challenge to the athletic displays of the participating teams, but rather a formal request for the consistent enforcement of tournament regulations.
“The FRMF wishes to reiterate that its actions were never intended to contest the sporting performance of the teams involved in this competition, but solely to request the application of the competition rules,” the Federation stated.
The governing body further emphasized its dedication to upholding regulatory standards and ensuring a transparent, stable environment for African football.
“The Federation reaffirms its commitment to the respect of regulations, the clarity of the competitive framework, and the stability of African competitions,” the statement continued. “Finally, it wishes to commend all the nations that participated in this edition of the AFCON, which served as a major moment for African football.”
The FRMF is scheduled to convene with its governing bodies today, with a comprehensive official statement expected to be released tomorrow.
