The Russian Embassy in Ghana says it has taken note of media reports concerning the alleged involvement of a man believed to be a Russian national in sexual activities with some Ghanaian women and secretly recording the encounters without their consent.

In a statement posted on X on Monday, February 16, 2026, the Embassy said the reports circulating in the Ghanaian media relate to claims that a supposed Russian citizen recorded sexual acts without the knowledge or approval of the women involved.

The Embassy, however, did not confirm the identity or nationality of the individual and did not indicate whether it had verified the claims or engaged Ghanaian authorities on the matter.

The statement follows growing public concern and social media discussions over allegations that a foreign national secretly filmed intimate encounters with multiple women in Ghana. The claims have sparked calls for a full investigation and prosecution if substantiated, as secretly recording sexual acts without consent constitutes a criminal offence under Ghanaian law.
