Iconic Afro-Dancehall artiste Stonebwoy is set to headline the closing ceremony of the 2023 African Games at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium in Accra on Saturday, March 23.
Renowned for his global chart-topping hits such as ‘Into The Future’ and ‘Activate’, the Ghanaian-international star will electrify thousands of fans with his energetic performance, showcasing his unique blend of afrobeat, reggae, and dancehall before other events of the evening.
As a recipient of the BET award, Stonebwoy is expected to deliver a mesmerizing performance, marking the conclusion of the fifteen-day thrilling contests involving 5000 elite athletes and coaches from fifty-five African countries competing in twenty-nine selected sports disciplines.
Born Livingstone Satekla, the award-winning artist seamlessly fuses Afropop, dancehall, and reggae, creating a distinctive sound known as “Afro-dancehall,” which has consistently produced chart-topping hits, establishing him as Ghana’s foremost musical figure since 2012.
With international touring, standout collaborations, and chart-topping albums, the decorated artiste has ensured a continual presence in Africa’s music mainstream, while placing the continent firmly on the musical map.

The African Games, owned and organized by the African Union on behalf of its member states, bring together athletes from across the continent every four years, one year before the Olympics.

Additionally, the Games play a crucial role in fostering social cohesion and a culture of peace within Africa.
