The Nkawkaw Divisional Police Command has arrested three individuals for stealing cartons of sardines from a cargo truck that overturned at Kwahu Fodua on the Accra–Kumasi highway in the Eastern Region.
The truck, which was travelling from Accra to Kumasi, reportedly overturned after the driver attempted to swerve a pothole, blocking traffic in both directions.
The crash drew a crowd, with some bystanders helping to clear the road, while the three suspects were caught removing items from the container.
They were immediately apprehended and handed over to police. The injured driver and his mate are receiving treatment at the Holy Family Hospital in Nkawkaw as investigations continue.
