The United States Embassy in Accra has announced the release of more than 1,000 non-immigrant visa appointment slots, giving applicants in Accra and surrounding areas the chance to secure interview dates within the next week.

In a post on Facebook on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, the Embassy said the newly opened slots are mainly for B1/B2 visas, which cover business and tourism travel to the United States.

The Embassy urged prospective travellers to book immediately and encouraged applicants with appointments scheduled later in the year to reschedule for earlier dates where possible.

Officials described the move as an opportunity for those travelling for business meetings, conferences, tourism and family visits, noting that the additional slots are expected to ease existing appointment backlogs and improve access to timely visa processing.
