Ghana head coach Otto Addo insists his team is capable of managing difficult circumstances ahead of Monday’s friendly against Germany, following a heavy defeat to Austria last Friday.
The Black Stars are looking to recover from a 5-1 loss in Vienna, a result that marked the first time the national team has conceded five goals in a single fixture since 2007. Despite the setback, Addo noted that the squad has used the intervening time to review their performance.
‘‘We have had a lot to analyze since Saturday’s (defeat), which was a big, big blow for us in our preparation. We were actually optimistic to at least have a good game. But after the first half and let’s say two unnecessary goals, we fell apart,’’ Addo stated.
While acknowledging the quality of their upcoming opponents in Stuttgart, the coach maintained a defiant stance regarding Ghana’s ability to compete.
‘‘So we had a lot of things to talk through and analyze through, surely even though we will have very strong opponents, we are very, very optimistic that we can handle the situation,’’ Addo added.
