The Minister for Roads and Highways, Kwame Governs Agbodza, has cautioned the contractor handling the Dambai Bridge project against delays, insisting that the project must be completed within the agreed timeframe.
During an inspection of the 1.5-kilometre bridge project, the Minister said the government would closely monitor progress and would not allow unnecessary setbacks that could affect completion.
Mr. Agbodza said measures had been taken to ensure smooth execution of the project, including timely contract award, early mobilisation payments and regular engagement with the contractor to address challenges.
He expressed confidence that projects under the government’s Big Push infrastructure programme would be delivered within their contractual timelines if contractors maintain the required pace of work.
The Dambai Bridge project is expected to improve transportation links in the Oti Region and enhance the movement of people, goods and services across the Volta Lake corridor and River Oti.
