The Minister for Roads and Highways, Governs Kwame Agbodza, says the government will continue inspecting road projects across the country until contractors complete and hand over the projects.
He said the repeated inspections form part of the Ministry’s efforts to monitor progress, ensure quality and safeguard value for money on government-funded infrastructure projects.
Speaking during an inspection of an ongoing road project, Mr Agbodza said the Ministry would maintain pressure on contractors to ensure timely delivery.
He acknowledged that the project was slightly behind schedule but expressed confidence that the contractor could recover lost time and potentially complete the work ahead of schedule if the current level of mobilisation was sustained.
The Minister cautioned the contractor not to become complacent, stressing that regular monitoring would continue until the project was completed.
Mr Agbodza said the inspections would extend to road projects nationwide as the government seeks to ensure that investments in infrastructure result in completed and quality roads for Ghanaians.
