Former Dome-Kwabenya MP Sarah Adwoa Safo is reportedly receiving treatment at the 37 Military Hospital in Accra after sustaining gunshot injuries in a reported shooting incident.
According to her Special Assistant, Dr. Emmanuel Y. Boakye, the former legislator has undergone two surgeries and may be flown abroad for specialised medical care to prevent further damage to her face.
The incident is reported to have occurred during a violent altercation at the residence of her younger brother, Israel Kwadwo Safo Akofena, where approximately 45 rounds of ammunition were allegedly fired at her vehicle. A video circulating on social media is said to show her being rushed to hospital by ambulance following the incident.
Medical personnel are reportedly monitoring her condition at the 37 Military Hospital, while arrangements for possible overseas treatment are being considered.
