The National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NaCCA) has warned publishers, schools, booksellers and other education stakeholders to ensure that only officially approved learning materials are used in Ghana’s pre-tertiary schools.

In a public notice issued on July 6, NaCCA reiterated that it is the sole statutory body mandated under the Education Regulatory Bodies Act, 2020 (Act 1023) to assess and approve learner materials before they are published, marketed, distributed or used in schools. The Council stressed that all approved materials must carry the official NaCCA Approval QR Code to enable users to verify their authenticity.

NaCCA also raised concerns over reports that some publishers are unlawfully using its logo on learning materials that have not been approved, describing the practice as misleading and a violation of the law. It directed those involved to immediately stop using its name, logo or any representation suggesting approval on unapproved materials, warning that offenders risk regulatory and legal action.

The Council reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining quality standards in Ghana’s pre-tertiary education system and urged the public to verify the approval status of learning materials before purchasing or using them.
