President John Dramani Mahama has reaffirmed his government’s commitment to equitable national development, stating that no region will be neglected because of its voting pattern.
Speaking at the sod-cutting ceremony for a 24-Hour Economy Market in Juapong in the Volta Region, the President said his administration is committed to governing in the interest of all Ghanaians, regardless of political affiliation or geographical location. He rejected claims that regions are rewarded or neglected based on their electoral choices.
Mahama said the government’s commitment to the Volta Region is rooted in fairness and equity, not political loyalty. The Juapong market project is part of the broader 24-Hour Economy initiative aimed at boosting trade, creating jobs and expanding economic activity through modern commercial infrastructure.
The project was welcomed by chiefs, traders, youth groups and residents, who described it as a significant step towards improving local commerce and supporting economic growth in the South Tongu District.
