Ghana’s senior women’s national football team, the Black Queens, are intensifying their preparations ahead of their opening match at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
The team will open their tournament campaign on Wednesday, July 29, when they face tournament debutants Cape Verde. This marks the 12th WAFCON appearance for Ghana, who have missed only two of the last 13 tournament editions.
As part of their build-up to the fixture, the Black Queens held a training session in Casablanca on Monday to fine-tune their readiness for the encounter.
