Aggrieved customers of the defunct Gold Coast Fund Management have petitioned President John Dramani Mahama, calling for government intervention to secure the payment of their outstanding investments.

The customers say billions of cedis remain unpaid following the collapse of the fund during the 2019 financial sector cleanup.

Although government has made several payments to affected customers over the years, the group says these disbursements have not fully settled the outstanding claims. Convenor of the Aggrieved Gold Coast Customers, Charles Nyame, said the total amount owed was initially more than GH¢5.5 billion, with payments made in 2023 and 2024 forming part of that amount.

He cited a GH¢700 million payment released in September 2024 but stressed that a significant balance remains outstanding.

The customers are demanding clarity on when the remaining funds will be paid and are urging the government to establish a clear, long-term repayment plan.

They say many affected investors have waited for years to regain access to their funds and are calling for concrete action to resolve the matter.
