The United States Embassy in Accra has announced the release of more than 2,000 additional visa appointment slots for applicants seeking B1/B2 visas over the next two weeks.

The newly opened slots are intended for short-term travellers planning visits to the United States for business, tourism, family engagements, and major international events, including the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be hosted across North America.

In a statement, the Embassy urged prospective applicants to act quickly to secure the available interview dates. It also encouraged individuals who already have appointments scheduled for later in the year to log into the visa scheduling system and consider rescheduling to an earlier date if convenient.

The move is expected to help ease appointment backlogs and offer greater flexibility to travellers with time-sensitive plans.
