Black Stars forward Jordan Ayew has expressed confidence in the team’s preparation ahead of their international friendly against Austria at the Ernst Happel Stadium on Friday.

The fixture serves as the first of two high-profile matches for Ghana during the March international break as they intensify preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Following today’s game, the team will travel to Stuttgart to face Germany on Monday.

Ayew emphasized that the squad is taking the upcoming challenges seriously, noting the high stakes of the matches despite their friendly status.

“Every game is important. Even though we know these two games are really important, previously the other games were important as well. But sometimes, it is what it is,” Ayew stated.

The experienced attacker highlighted the work being done behind the scenes to ensure the team is ready for the European opposition.

“Tomorrow [Today] is going to be a tough game, and Monday will be a tough game, so we’ll do our best. We are preparing really well tactically, technically and physically. We’re looking good, so let’s see what happens,” he added.

The match is set to kick off at 17:00 GMT.
