Defending champions, Ghana have secured a spot in the 2026 CAF African Schools Football Championship final after defeating Zambia 1-0 in their semi-final clash on Thursday, April 9.

The victory sets up a high-stakes rematch against Burkina Faso, the team that defeated the Black Damsels in both the WAFU B regional qualifiers and the group stage of the current tournament.

The decisive goal came in the eighth minute of the first half. Blessing Tettey seized possession on the right flank and struck a long-range effort that sailed past the Zambian goalkeeper to put Sandra Boakye’s side ahead. Ghana maintained the lead for the remainder of the match to ensure their second consecutive appearance in the competition’s final.

Ghana entered this year’s tournament as the reigning titleholders, having defeated Uganda in the previous final held in Accra.

Burkina Faso earned their place in the championship match after a narrow semi-final victory over Morocco. The final is scheduled to take place on Friday, April 10.
