Asante Kotoko SC has announced the immediate resignation of Interim Head Coach Prince Yaw Owusu.
In an official statement issued by Communications Director Sarfo Duku, the club confirmed that Owusu chose to vacate his position, citing the welfare of the team as his primary motivation.
“Interim Head Coach Prince Yaw Owusu has stepped down from his role with immediate effect. The coach stated in his resignation letter that his decision was taken in the greatest interest of the club,” the statement read.
The management of the Porcupine Warriors acknowledged the coach’s efforts and thanked him for his service to the technical bench.
“Management expresses its sincere appreciation to Coach for his service, dedication, and commitment during his time with the club, and wishes him the very best in his future endeavours,” the club added.
In the wake of his departure, Youth Team Coach Hamza Obeng has been appointed to lead the senior side on an interim basis for the rest of the season. The club indicated that further updates regarding a permanent technical structure will be provided at a later date.
